Hair : My WEN Haircare Products

The Story

I finally have a chance to sit and tell you all about my experience with WEN. First i will tell you why i decided to try WEN. I have super long hair. I have been relaxing my hair for many, many years. I have curly/biracial hair. 1 year ago i decided to stop relaxing my hair. I want to have my natural curly hair. Well it's really hard to do that because half of my hair is full of my natural thick curls, and the rest is straight because it's the hair that i have relaxed. So what happens is this...when i brush my hair it will start breaking, or splitting because of the two different hair textures, not to mention the dryness and the hair begins to look unhealthy. One way that people escape this by cutting their hair. I refuse to do this, i figure if i'm going to go through this and suffer through the process-i might as well keep it long so that i can t least style it different.

                                                                        My Process


1. I basically follow the instructions on the box as i wash my hair. I separate my hair into four parts. I lather and rinse twice. Before i get out of the shower i put a little bit of my cleansing conditioner and use it as a leave in condition.

2. Two days later i rinse off he cleansing condition i had left in my hair on day 1.
I DO NOT wash my hair again, i only rinse. Then i add the Lavendar Re moist Intensive Hair Treatment, and leave it on for 2 additonal days.

3. Two days later i rinse. & I leave my hair with nothing on it (i like to see it as- leaving my hair product free and just be itself) On this day i use my Styling Creme or Texture Balm which i'm super attached to.

4. The day after, which may be day 4 or day 5 - depending on how my hair is doing - i start with step 1 all over again.

These are not instructions everyone has to follow- this is just what works for me, and helps keep my products from running out too quick.



                                                                  My Results

The first time i used WEN i was not too happy. My hair felt super heavy, and i was not sure if it was really cleaned properly. The second time around i was more comfortable and realized that this is how everyone's hair should feel. Heavy, Thick, and Healthy! What surprised me the most is how for two days i did not really detangle my hair. I woke up one morning with crazy hair and ran my fingers through it and I seriously could not believe that they went through nice, and smooth! That never happens, with my half curly and half straight hair they always get stuck-and detangling my hair hurts. Over all i'm super happy and totally recommend this product. My hair is growing nice and healthy. Just remember give it a few tries before you totally judge. If you are trying to clean up your hair act this product is perfect.

A few TIPS- When you order this product they have different scents. Tell them what hair type you are and they will recommend which scent is for you-it has something to do with the ingredients (not sure).

Try to only use these products, that way you know if they are actually working. Do not mix and use other products because you may UNDO what WEN just did for your hair. If you go to the hair salon, bring your WEN products.

Natural Remedies: Cold pt.2

As we all know i recently had a common cold. Well this time around i decided to stay away from all over the counter medicine, ALL TOGETHER! It began with a slight headache in the morning, and a sore throat. By the night time my entire body ached. I downloaded a cool app. on my Ipad, NATURAL REMEDIES. I immediately began my little treatment. GINGER! I would peel and boil bits of ginger in water, and mix half of it with my green tea. I kid you not, my cold lasted a total of TWO full days. I had a runny nose, cough, the whole darn thing. Gone in two days. This has never happened, my colds have always lasted 5-8 days, maybe even longer. I am convinced that over the counter medicine only masks symptoms of a common cold and does not help our immune system get stronger to fight the cold off! I highly recommend you all to stay away from over the counter medicines when you have a cold. Try natural remedies. Don't forget if you have a fever you must take something like aspirin to control it, and if it persists go to a doctor-you may have an infection. -M.

Natural Remedies: Cold

I have a cold, and with tons of research for the first time i am going to stay away from any over the counter medicines-Of course if you have a fever you must take something to keep it under control and/or to a Doctor....but for a simple season cold...let's try an old natural remedy. Ginger Tea, and Lemon with Honey in some h2o.

Fondue

There are not many things to do in N.C. and i really wanted something fun, & interesting with my special someone. Well i found this place called The Melting Pot. This was out dessert. It was amazing, we talked, laughed. Had a blast! I need to go again.
